Street Fighter 4 IS Crack

I've been playing the game at a friend's house, and I literally can't get enough. Its so old school, yet so new. The 3d character models and environments mixed with the 2d gameplay makes for the best fighting game since...well Street Fighter 2. The game seems really balanced, but most importantly, it brings the franchise back to its former glory. I've always loved the Vs series (Capcom vs SNK, Marvel vs Capcom) and other installments in the franchises, but they never felt quite like the original that got me hooked in the 1st place. This game however, does. Only problem is I don't own a 360 or PS3. I'm really considering getting one, but the 360's "Red Rings of Death" really frightens the hell out out of me. If any other commercial product had such a high failure rate, it would have been recalled ages ago. Alternately, I don't see anything that legitimately warrants the PS3's high price tag. Either way...I will own this game soon. HADOKEN!!

I know I have a videogame blog, but that's dedicated to Nintendo's little wonder box, the Wii. Check it out "HERE"

Call Me A Loser....

but I've been doing Wii Fit in conjunction with regular exercises, and Nintendo's little board really does work. I was really surprised how accurate it was when I tried it at a friend's house, but having it for myself, I have to say that its the truth. If you're dedicated you can see results from it. You won't become a bodybuilder, but it will help strengthen your core. I just wish you could create pre-set routines instead of going in and out of menu screens.

No Stopping Nintendo

Absolutely crazy...the Wii managed to sell over 2 million units in November alone. Nintendo has outsold their competitors every month since its release back in '06 with the exception of last September when Halo 3 dropped. Goodness gracious! Despite having a less than stellar line up this holiday season, with the exception of a few gems like de Blob (very therapeutic BTW), Guitar Hero, and Wario Land, the system is still flying off shelves. Mario Kart and Wii Fit, if they haven't already, are both on track to outsell GTA IV even though the game is on both the PS3 and 360. That is a staggering statistic considering the brand equity of the GTA franchise. 2009 looks incredibly promising, and 3rd parties may finally catch up in terms of quality with games like The Conduit, Mad World, House of the Dead: Overkill, and a bunch of others. Either way, I tip my hat off to Ninty for bucking the trend of trying to improve on graphics alone, and reminding us that fun comes first. Damn, I'm jealous. Between the Wii & DS, they're literally printing money at this point. Congrats

More Crazy Video Game Goodness

Well, in the past few weeks I've gotten increasingly excited for Wii's 2009 line up. Tenchu 4 looks fun. Conduit is gonna be crazy. Mad World is gonna rock. Punch Out will own my life. Muramasa: Demon Blade looks gorgeous, and its 2D. No More Heroes 2...goodness gracious, my favorite Wii game is getting a sequel. Finally though, if you don't look at the links to any other game I've mentioned, you must watch this "TRAILER" for the new Street Fighter/Capcom vs ? for Wii. I NEED THAT!!!

Even More Nintendo Goodness

Ok, so I'm a little game happy today. Here's a couple new videos of Wii's prettiest title, "The Conduit".

More Wii wackiness, but this seems interesting. Is the remote reading the vibration?

OK Nintendo...

after a lackluster E3 showing, they've addressed some key issues and pleased the core. We finally get a storage solution (thank heavens already), AND we get a NEW Punch-Out and Sin & Punishment. That's stuff to be excited about!!!

NICE!!!

Say What You Want, ....

but NINTENDO is that deal. If not, why is everyone trying to follow their lead. So I've grown up playing games since Atari 2600, and I believe I've seen everything that games can offer. For the most part that constitutes prettier graphics, and not much else. So despite how many naysayers argue against the Wii because its less powerful, doesn't have a good online infrastructure, and doesn't have a storage solution, why in the world are Sony and Microsoft copying everything the little white box does. Sony now announces a channel that will feature wheather and streaming news....great, I've had that on Wii forever now. Sony & Microsoft are both planning to introduce motion sensing remote like devices...great, mine came in the box with my console. Microsoft is planning to announce new cartoon like avatars for the 360....great, I did that when I first booted up my system. Point is, they're too late to the party. No one expected Nintendo to be market leader, but if you're like me, you knew it was gonna happen. Look at their track record...

-they resurrected the console market with the NES & Mario Bros.
-They were the 1st to do 3D graphic on a console with SNES' FX Chip & Starfox
-They were the 1st to introduce rumble with the N64 & Starfox 64
-They introduced the analog stick with N64
-They were the 1st to do lock on targeting, which is now used in every game, with Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
-They were the 1st to introduce motion sensing devices as inputs through the Wii

They have always innovated and when they do so successfully, the market follows. I'm not mad because they suffer from "Mii Too" syndrome, but at least acknowledge Ninty's contributions to this generation of gaming.

On a side note, here are 10 Wii games everyone needs to play or OWN!! (Rob Love, this is for you)
1. No More Heroes - the best pure action game you'll find & its hilarious
2. Zack & Wiki - an experience only possible on Wii, & it'll make you feel stupid too
3. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption -will change how you feel about FPS controls
4. Super Mario Galaxy -proves the Wii is no slouch graphically & it feels natural
5. Wii Sports - a showcase of the potential in motion sensing
6. Boom Blox - simplicity at its finest & you don't need guns to blow things up
7. Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 - it makes conventional sports games feel archaic
8. Wii Fit - a glimpse into the future of gaming
9. Rayman Raving Rabbids - shows off numerous ways you can manipulate the remote
10. Resident Evil 4: Wii edition - you need to play a conventional game with new controls to understand the difference

The Battle of Wii Fit

I found this incredibly hilarious. The 1st video is the now infamous "Wii Fit Girl" who was secretly recorded by her boyfriend. The second is Playboy's attempt to copy her with Playmate Jo Garcia....

I've Been Slacking...Again

so here are some random thoughts
-I'm working on a new mixtape, which you'll be getting snippets from very soon
-I have a newfound passion for Hip-Hop again (sometimes my intensity wanes but only because I'm uninspired. Right now, I wanna crush the competition)
-My new freestyles and songs will reflect the aforementioned mindset
-I have all these new games, but no time to play them
-I thought post graduation, I would be chilling...I'm not
-I can't take this damn heat wave in NYC...it's unbearable
-Tonight is game 3 of the NBA Finals, and I think it will determine the rest of the series
-Shouldn't EA include Lakers vs Celtics with Live 09 this year (it makes sense)
-So Take Two is gonna merge with Ubisoft as opposed to EA; very strategic power move
-Apple is getting into the game industry
-Lil' Wayne is good, but why is eveyrone jumping the bandwagon now?
-Doesn't Alicia Keys look bananas in her new video?
- I'm done for now & promise to be back sooner than later
